Monrif S.p.A. is one of the main Italian publishing and printing groups. The holding company owned by the Monti Riffeser family is active in the publishing industry through Poligrafici Editoriale S.p.A. and the wholly-owned subsidiaries Monrif Net S.r.l., Monrif Investimenti e sviluppo S.r.l. and Emiliana Grandi Alberghi S.r.l. Monrif operates in the advertising industry with the SpeeD (Società pubblicità editoriale e Digitale) agency, and Poligrafici Printing handles the printing for the group and third-parties while the Monrif Net division is active in the Internet sector. The company is present in the hotel industry with EGA, Emiliana Grandi Alberghi, which owns and operates luxury hotels in Bologna and Milan.
The group, founded thanks to the intuition of Attilio Monti, assumed its current name when it became a publicly traded company in 1986. It further expanded in 2007 with the public listing of Gruppo Poligrafici Printing, active in the printing industry with the Grafica Editoriale Printing S.r.l., Csp Centro Stampa Poligrafici and Gcp Grafica Commerciale Printing S.r.l. subsidiaries.

Poligrafici Editoriale S.p.A., an entrepreneurially modern group, that has been able to diversify its business holdings over the years, rounding them out with some of the most technologically advanced and strategically located centers, for the printing of numerous newspapers, even ones not published by the group.
It is the leader of the pack in the regions it operates in with QN Quotidiano Nazionale, il Resto del Carlino, La Nazione and Il Giorno: storied newspapers that have always successfully combined authoritative national and international coverage with widespread local news faithful to the interests of their own readers.
S.A Poligrafici il Resto del Carlino was renamed Poligrafici Editoriale in 1977, following the publishing company’s acquisition of the La Nazione and the il Resto del Carlino newspapers. The previous year Editoriale (now the Monrif Group) had acquired the controlling stake in the company.
In 1986 it became a publicly traded company.
In 1989 the Group took control over S.P.E. (Società Pubblicità Editoriale which is now called SpeeD, Società pubblicità editoriale e Digitale). In 1997 Sogedit (Gruppo ENI) sold the Group its shares of the Publisher Il Giorno and of the Nuova Same (which handled the printing of the national newspaper Il Giorno).
In 1997 the business unit for the printing of the La Nazione newspaper was spun off and reassigned under the wholly owned Casa Nuove S.r.l. (since renamed the Centro Stampa Poligrafici S.r.l.).

Boasting a long history starting in far away 1885 together with the first editions of il Resto del Carlino and led over all these years by a management with great attention to the professionalism of its human resources and to technological growth, in order to best meet the dynamic needs of the market.
Poligrafici Printing operates in the national and European markets through a widespread business network and a production capacity featuring numerous roto-offset machines (with and without ovens), operating 24 hours a day, six days a week and spread out over the printing centers of Bologna, Florence and Milan.
Poligrafici Printing efficiently satisfies the production needs of the printing world (variable periodic products, free-press), of GDOs (folders) and of the business world in general (sales and marketing catalogues).
